Our Principles

For growth in a community to be sustainable, it must lead to a healthier, safer, and more equitable outcomes for all. All development either is accomplished in a sustainable manner or leads to more sprawl. To be sustainable, development must be resilient, attractive, and lucrative for the community, not only for certain categories of citizens.

Our aim is to promote policies that encourage affordable housing, more housing choices for all, and new mixed-income housing in communities. By creating more housing choices in mixed-use developments, folks of varying socio-economic status will be able to find suitable housing options in areas they prefer, thereby reducing segregation and improving social mobility.

We advocate for policies that encourage the expansion of new and existing transit options. This includes policies that promote affordable, sustainable, and transit-oriented housing. This approach will create walkable, bike-able neighborhoods that reduce the reliance on vehicles, promote public transit use, and reduce CO2 emissions.

Encouraging the development of parks and green space will help reduce the urban heat island effect, improve air quality, and provide more recreational opportunities for residents. In particular, the development and support of a world class Dix Park will be a significant aspect of this organization’s focus.

Public Engagement is only as good as those who take part in it. For too long, a small group of loud constituencies have hijacked the public engagement process. This organization will focus on engaging and educating all residents of Raleigh with factual, non-biased information, and not allow an entitled few to control the narrative. We will truly engage the public and help support city government in making this effort.

All candidates should have a fair opportunity to run and win in local elections. We want all voters to be properly informed before deciding who is elected to lead Raleigh. This organization will work to ensure that all candidates, regardless of party or affiliation, have a fair opportunity to run and win our local elections.
